Happy Birthday . . .

To me!

We celebrated the night before with a wonderful supper at a local restaurant, followed by cake and presents at home.

While presents are not necessary, I did receive something rather special from my family.
Pretty 18" doll with glasses
Meet the latest addition to my 18" doll collection.  A cute brunette with glasses and school uniform.  It's me in a box! ;)

Happy Holidays . . .

How's the festivities at your place?  We're in full Christmas cheer here in the house on the hill.
The tree is up.  The presents are wrapped.  The baking is done.  We're just relaxin' and chillin' with the kids as we await Santa's arrival . . . .

Hope y'all have a wonderful Christmas with loved ones nearby.

Happy Canada Day :)

What are your plans for the long weekend?  Mine will hopefully include outdoor activities, some wine accompanied by a fun read (been on an Agatha Christie kick of late) and some knitting (between socks and slippers, my hands are full--so to speak).  And if the temperature holds, I may even venture to the local beaches with my boys.

Whatever your plans for this holiday weekend, may the sun smile upon you and your loved ones.  Have a good one :)

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year dear readers and fellow crafters!

Bubbly Spirits
First off, I don't think I can thank you enough for visiting and reading.  And I especially appreciate all your lovely comments.  My first meager posts in cyberspace felt like a monologue exercise (not that I mind talking to myself, but the give-and-take of conversation is so much nicer).  Over the past year, the blog has grown, resulting in new friends--both cyber- and real-life.

So as I raise a glass of sparkling bubbly, I want to wish you and yours a happy, healthy and crafty 2011.  Cheers!

Happy Canada Day!

How's your Canada Day so far?

Don't ya just love a day off mid week?  Yesterday felt like Friday (but it was only Wednesday).  Tomorrow is actually Friday, so I've got two Saturdays to play--and maybe crochet for fun . . .

Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we can spend some time outdoors (summer weather has been sporadic at best).  It would be nice to participate in some of the Canada Day festivities happening 'round town.

Have a great Canada Day!

To All the Moms . . .

Happy Mother's Day!

Nothing can change one's life as much as having a child.  Suddenly this little person takes over your free time, your house . . .And your heart.   Mom sacrfices so her babies can have clean clothes and new shoes, healthy meals and a home that's spic-and-span.  Jaunts to the park and family outings to local fun spots entertain the wee ones.  And then the babies grow up.  Some day they'll leave the nest . . . but they'll still be you're babies.  Always.  And forever more.

Thanks mom.

Happy New Year!

(photograph courtesy of clarita at morguefile.com)

Plans for this evening: board game with the kids and then a fun meal of nibblies and finger foods while we watch a movie.  Then a little toast between me and hubby as we ring in the new year (some time before midnight, no doubt--haha!).

Whatever your plans and wherever you are, have a safe and happy New Year!  Hope the new year brings you lots of knitting adventures and yarny goodness.

Happy Knitting :)
